"My career in photography began before I graduated college (Harpur College '72). I photographed all the turmoil surrounding the demonstrations against the war in Vietnam. I learned about using light, composition and perspective to tell a story. I continued working as a photojournalist on a daily newspaper. I followed that working in a photo processing lab and then as an assistant in the photo studio of a large industrial corporation. All the experiences I had in those positions helped me to sharpen my eye and appreciate the elements that create an image that touches all the senses. I believe that the best images are the ones that waken the emotions and passions. In 1978 I opened my own studio. My emphasis is industrial, commercial and portrait photography. I produce images in my studio and on location of products and people at work and events of all types. My images range from technical documentation to abstract conceptual images.
Being a photographer has opened many doors to meet all kinds of people and to have experiences that I never would have had. I am still learning so much on many different levels and that is what keeps me coming back for another view through the lens."
